It seems it could not creating the symbolic link correctly between "/etc/alternatives" and "/opt/jdk1.8.0_45/bin/java". I ran into one issue that someone else may have already mentioned, but I did not see it. have a peek here

Cancel reply Your email address will not be published. Centos Install Wget The reason is that if you put the entries in /etc/environment it messes up the PATH environment setting which includes removing reference to /bin. It was the line with "$PATH" that had spoiled /etc/environment.
It is more comprehensive. JDK is a fully loaded Development Kit that has everything that JRE has plus additional resources to create/secure Applications and Applets. Install Maven Centos Though I see a benefit in that you would not "yank out" the current version out from under your running java applications.
